Street photography encompasses a wide range of genres, and this week we'll be exploring the philosophy of Street Photography. That is a lifestyle-based approach focused on capturing authentic, candid moments in public spaces to find beauty in the mundane. It emphasizes curiosity, serendipity, and the democratic, often fleeting, nature of everyday life. It's about documenting the "here and now" and transforming ordinary, often unposed, scenes into artistic, meaningful narratives. It is more about capturing the feeling of the moment rather than the technical qualities of the image. It is the emotion, movement, and feeling that help create the image.

As a landscape photographer, I have spent years exploring remote terrains and familiar places alike, chasing the interplay of light, weather, and natural form. My work is driven by a fascination with how landscapes evolve from moment to moment 2014how a sunrise transforms a quiet valley or how shifting clouds reshape a mountain 2019s silhouette. Through careful composition and a commitment to being present in the environment, I aim to create images that capture not only the beauty of a place but also the emotion and atmosphere it evokes.

Over time, my photography has grown into both a creative discipline and a personal journey. Whether hiking trails before dawn, waiting for the perfect alignment of light, or returning to the same location across seasons, I strive to reveal the subtle details that often go unnoticed. My portfolio reflects a deep appreciation for the natural world and a belief that landscape photography can inspire connection, reflection, and conservation. Each image represents an invitation to pause, breathe, and rediscover the wonder found in the landscapes around us.

Glenn Samuel is available for private bookings

Available most Saturdays for private tutoring of landscape and macro photography.

These native birds come down to the plains of the Nepean Valley from the Blue Mountains once a year, and this year they visited my area for 10 days straight. The most we've ever seen them. They visit early & wake us with their call. On this morning I awoke to their calls, so with street clothes over pyjamas, I grabbed my camera and went out into my Close to photograph them. They didn't stay in the Bottlebrush trees for long, so off I went on foot following them around the street from Bottlebrush
